WAYS TO GIVE

Membership:
The easiest way to support the Starfish Foundation is to become a member. Your $20 annual contribution will help cover our administrative expenses (all the work is done by volunteers) so we can use other donations for scholarships and sponsorships. Over 95% of Foundation income goes directly to programming! You will receive notifications of the Foundation's events and are invited to attend board meetings. You are welcome to volunteer for fundraising events and administrative tasks.

The GREAT NEWS is that there are also two free and easy ways that YOU can support the foundation!

GoodSearch

GoodSearch is a search engine that donates half of its income to charity - you just register the charity you want donations to go to.

Through GoodShop, they also donate a percentage of purchases you make online (from thousands of retailers!).
The One Minute Setup:
Take one minute to designate Starfish Foundation as your charity of choice with GoodSearch.
1. Go to www.goodsearch.com
2. In the "Who do you GoodSearch For?" blank, enter "Starfish Foundation"
3. Click the "Verify" button.
4. When the page refreshes, you will be shown two (or more) organizations that have "Starfish Foundation" as part of their name. Select "Starfish Foundation (Milwaukee, WI).

Now you are ready to use GoodSearch and GoodShop!
Do your web surfing here and check out all the retailers in GoodShop. All you do is enter their websites via GoodShop - then shop as you normally would. You won't see anything different. GoodShop will automatically donate a specified percent of your purchase to the Starfish Foundation.

These cost-free ways to contribute to the Starfish Foundation make a difference in someone's life. How wonderful it is that searching and shopping can save a starfish!

Adopt a Heart:

The Starfish Foundation's Adopt a Heart program allows you to provide a full scholarship to an individual. If you would like, your donation can be revealed to the recipient or you may make your donation anonymously.

Weekend seminars cost an average of $500. Those who are hurting emotionally can very often be those who are hurting financially. Your sponsorship is the beginning to help them help themselves. Adopt a Heart, help it to heal, and make the world a safer place for us all.

Sponsor a Vet's Journey Home:

Sponsoring Vets Journey Home allows you to provide funding for an individual vet or to sponsor an entire Vets Journey Home weekend. While vets do not pay to attend the program (they have already paid the price, and more!), there are costs to conducting the weekends.

Your sponsorship can be from $400, the average cost for one vet to attend, or sponsor a whole weekend for 10 vets at $3000. (Cost of the weekend varies from $3-5,000 depending on whether or not it is a residential weekend. All staff are volunteers for this program, allowing us to produce the program as economically as possible.)

Legacy Giving:

A charitable bequest is the simplest form of legacy giving. In your will, you can specify a particular asset, a fixed dollar amount, or designate a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after all other bequests have been fulfilled, to go to the Starfish Foundation.

Your gift will help bring to those who cannot financially afford the opportunity, the ability to participate in emotional healing programs, such as Taking It Lightly, Renewal for Sexual Abuse Survivors, Vets Journey Home, and similar workshops and seminars. By providing this financial assistance, the Foundation and its donors provide the resources to assist emotional trauma survivors to liberate their grief, rage and shame, and allow joy to return to their lives.

For many, the largest gift of a lifetime may come only through their estate plan. Please consider including the Starfish Foundation as part of your legacy.
